Why dentures might be right for you?

Dentures are often recommended if missing teeth are affecting your:

  • Smile or facial appearance.
  • Comfort when eating.
  • Speech clarity.
  • Alignment of remaining teeth.

By filling gaps, dentures prevent other teeth from shifting, becoming misaligned, or causing discomfort.

Full dentures also support your cheeks and lips, helping you maintain a natural, youthful appearance.

What’s involved?

Creating your new dentures is a careful, personalised process:

  • Initial impressions: We take precise moulds of your mouth to guide the design of your dentures.
  • Choosing shape, size, and colour: Together with your dentist, you select teeth that complement your smile.
  • Trial denture: A preliminary model is created to check comfort, fit, and bite. Adjustments are made to ensure the best result.
  • Final denture: The model is transformed into a natural-looking, durable denture. At your final appointment, your dentist will ensure a comfortable fit and make any last refinements.

Most patients require 4–5 appointments to complete the process. After your dentures are fitted, minor adjustments are normal in the first days and weeks.

Getting comfortable

Initially, your dentist may suggest wearing your dentures most of the time, including at night, to adapt comfortably. Once settled, you may prefer to remove them at bedtime to let your gums rest. Denture fixatives can give extra confidence, especially during the early days of wearing them.

Caring for your dentures

Proper care keeps dentures looking and feeling their best. Follow the simple “brush, soak, brush” routine:

  • Brush to remove food debris.
  • Soak in an effervescent cleaner to refresh and remove stains.
  • Brush again gently, including the areas that contact your gums.

We recommend cleaning dentures over a bowl of water or a soft cloth to avoid accidental damage.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know for a healthier smile

How long do dentures last?

With careful use and regular check-ups, dentures can last several years.

If your denture becomes loose, uncomfortable, or worn, it can be relined or remade to restore optimal fit and function.

Well-maintained dentures help you eat comfortably, speak clearly, and keep your smile looking natural.

What are the alternatives to dentures?

Other solutions to dentures include one or multiple implants to replace teeth, or implants to hold dentures in place.

Your dentist will always explain and suggest the most appropriate treatment depending on your individual case.
