I was so happy to find a Holistic dentist, so close to home!Thomas follows strict protocols, for safe amalgam removal. This was such a relief for me, as it was something I had been worried about for sometime.Every procedure is explained thoroughly. And, lots of advice is given, on how to improve your dental health at home too. Thomas genuinely cares about root-cause healing.The methods used to help you heal, are truly amazing. One of which involved, using the plasma taken from my blood to help heal the socket, after a tooth extraction.I use to be nervous going to the dentist, but since attending the Observatory Dental Practice, I have felt completely at ease. The atmosphere is always so warm and calming.

My husband and I followed Dr Patterson when he moved from a different dental practice to set up independently in Falmouth, even though it involves a lot more travel. We have never regretted the decision. The practice is spotless and all of the staff extremely professional, efficient and kind. I recently “lost” a crown and when I contacted the Practice I was seen quickly for emergency treatment and then had 2 appointments to have a replacement crown fitted. Dr Patterson was so skilled in his assessment and treatment, and made what could have been quite a daunting experience very bearable. The crown looks great and I’m very pleased with the outcome. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

Had an emergency appointment as I lost half a back tooth that also was lacerating my tongue.The Observatory were amazing, giving me a same day appointment.The procedure was impeccable, painless and quick, Thomas was kind, professional and took a fully holistic approach and I have a newly built tooth!It obviously cost but totally worth it, definitely will recommend and will use the practice agsin when needed, thank you.

I cannot recommend this dental practice highly enough. Olivia has been absolutely fantastic throughout my treatment. She is knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and incredibly patient, especially with nervous patients. She took the time to explain everything clearly and was very accommodating regarding my allergies, making adjustments wherever possible to ensure I was comfortable.I recently had an extraction, and I was amazed at how smooth the recovery was—it was completely painless from start to finish, which I definitely did not expect.Hettie, the hygienist, is equally excellent. She is professional, thorough, and friendly, always putting me at ease while providing outstanding care.Every dental nurse and receptionist I have encountered has been welcoming, professional, and kind. The whole team works together to create a friendly and reassuring environment, making every visit as positive as possible.Thank you to everyone at the practice for your exceptional care and professionalism.

Dr Thomas is an holistic dentist who cares about the relationship between your oral health and the rest of your body which is the position that I take, too. I went to the surgery for possible emergency treatment and only had a small window of opportunity to be seen because I was travelling from overseas. He treated me with great kindness and patience. I am pleased to say that no intervention was necessary.I highly recommend the Observatory Dental Practice.

I have found the whole team at The Observatory Dental very caring and professional.I was recommended to the practice by my orthodontist who spoke highly of their expertise with dental implants. An old root canal in my front tooth had failed and I needed an extraction. I met with Dr. Andrew Paterson who talked me through the various options and introduced me to Simon Martin, the resident Implantologist.The total treatment entailed: an extraction, bone graft to rebuild jaw lost due to the infection then fitting an implant and a crown.Simon was very thorough and exacting in his attention to detail.Between the extraction and fitting the crown I had a prosthetic to hide the gap while it healed, this was custom made by Simon to match the size and colour of my natural teeth, so even close up most people would never guess it wasn’t real.The finished implant is extremely neat and comfortable - even I forget it is there which is the highest praise possible.With Andrew I completed the transformation with some aesthetic treatments - a course of whitening and dental bonding to neatly reshape some of the teeth.At the practice I also see Yana, on one occasion she managed to save a tooth with a particularly precise and fiddly filling right at the gum line - with a less skilled dentist I am sure I would have lost the tooth.I can’t speak highly enough of the team and the dental care I have received.

First time having a hygienist appointment and I was genuinely so impressed. The whole experience was incredibly friendly, calming, and welcoming from start to finish. Rachel made me feel completely at ease and informed me of everything she was doing before she did it, which was so reassuring. She also gave me complete control throughout the whole process, making sure I was comfortable at every stage. It honestly almost didn’t feel like I was at the dentist at all. Such a lovely atmosphere with kind, professional care. I’d highly recommend to anyone, especially if you feel nervous about appointments!

I thoroughly recommend Thomas at The Observatory if you are looking for a holistic and gentle approach to dentistry. I was terrified to have an extraction, but Thomas and his wonderful colleague were so kind and relaxing that I immediately felt at ease. The procedure was comfortable and quick, and ended with a super cool treatment which involved using the plasma from my own blood to help heal the socket (pic below from after the centrifuge) My children also see Josh at The Observatory and he is also wonderful, so I highly recommend the practice, particularly to any nervous patients!

I’ve been a patient at The Observatory since the Autumn of 2024. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. The reception team are very friendly and super efficient. I was blessed to be assigned to the dentist Thomas Bethke. Thomas has an holistic approach to his dentistry which has been perfect for me having experienced breast cancer in 2023. I always feel listened to and totally trust Thomas in his advice and treatment. I have had excellent treatment from Thomas as well as Dr Simon for some dental implants. The hygienist team and all the dental nurses are fabulous too. I thoroughly recommend this practise.

Warm friendly welcome as you enter reception .Reception staff very efficient. Waiting area is large airy open plan space to relax in. Although I'm new to the Practice my experience so far is positive the dentist is informative and explains options very well ,willing to talk and answer your questions. Very high tech modern dentistry. Cleanliness of all areas are excellent.

I am really a wimp when it comes to the dentist, but Thomas and Rachel at the Observatory really really are incredible at what they do. They’re both really warm and friendly and make the whole experience actually enjoyable, I always leave with a smile on my face. Each time I visit the observatory, it is always without exception a very professional and calm experience. My teeth have never felt or looked better and I know with utmost certainty that they are being well looked after. If you get the chance, ask for Thomas as your dentist because he is hilarious but also very knowledgeable. Even if it was possible to get an NHS dentist (lol) I would choose the observatory every time. Worth every penny. Thank you team :)

I recently swapped to the Observatory and I am so impressed with the level of care they provide. Josh Whelan was so knowledgable and friendly, and he went through my dental health in detail and answered every question I had. Yana was lovely and a real expert in dental hygiene. The staff all made me feel incredibly welcome and I had the chance to ask questions and clarify things. Appointments with the Observatory are incredibly comprehensive and go beyond just dental hygiene. I feel I got a really good value service for both general check up and routine hygienist appointment.

I have just received routine hygienist treatment delivered by Rachel at the Observatory Dental Practice. Both Rachel and her assistant were very pleasant. The treatment was delivered efficiently and on time, after which, Rachel provided advice on the best way to maintain healthy teeth and gums. The treatment caused no subsequent discomfort. I was very happy with not only the treatment but also the Practice itself, with which I have received dental treatment of a more substantial nature for some years.

The best dental practice I have ever belonged to. My dentist Josh Whelan is exceptionally skilled and always goes the extra mile to give me the best treatment possible. I went to The Observatory Dental Practice after my former dentist did not respond to an emergency call. From the moment I arrived, the team — and especially Dr Andrew — were exceptional.I received immediate emergency care, and my root canal was scheduled as soon as possible. They were truly lifesavers. I genuinely thought I might lose my molar, but Dr Andrew is highly skilled, calm, and always takes the time to answer all my questions.I am still a patient at the practice, and my dental care has significantly improved since then. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by such a warm and reassuring team.Andrew and his dental assistant provided truly exceptional treatment. For a procedure that requires a great deal of expertise, time, and patience, I honestly couldn’t have had a better experience. Everything was explained clearly and visually, and I was talked through each step of the procedure, which made a daunting day feel completely manageable. I recently had root canal treatment with Andrew at the Observatory Dental Practice and I can honestly say it’s the best Dental treatment I’ve received. I was previously told that my tooth would have to be extracted so I decided to book in for a consultation with Andrew and get a second opinion. I left the consultation feeling relived he could preserve my own tooth and at ease about the treatment plan.The treatment itself was a pleasant experience - pain free during and after and I felt very well looked after under the expert hands of Andrew and his dental nurse, each step explained to me during the procedure. I am so pleased that I chose this dental practice. All staff are really friendly. My dentist Thomas is a holistic dentist. He explains everything very well and puts you at ease. My recent extraction was so much better than a previous one at another practice. Thomas used Ozone disinfectant treatment & Platelet-rich Fibrin to aid healing of the tooth socket and minimise risk of infection. He also talks though supplements you may wish to take to aid the overall healing process. My post extraction pain levels were minimal compared to previous extraction. Rachel my hygienist is also friendly. I feel like I am treated as an individual and my needs are taken into consideration. I would highly recommend this dental practice to anyone.

I am an autistic young person who has not had many great experiences at the dentist. My mum found Thomas Bethke as she was looking for a dentist that was more holistic and understanding of our choices. I was made to feel very welcome, safe and secure. My treatment was so good no one could tell I'd had a composite on my front tooth! He spent lots of time with us as a family and we are so happy we have found someone we can trust and go to for check ups, advice and my mum can discuss all the stuff she's into and he understands. The place is lovely and the staff were all kind and friendly too.

We went to Observatory Dental Practice because we had been dropped off our former NHS dentist's list and also because the Observatory is within walking distance of our home.We were given very thorough examinations including X-rays and photographs to provide written treatment plans to be discussed with the dentist on a follow-up visit. We opted for functional rather than cosmetic treatments. The treatments required a series of visits, mainly to replace existing amalgam fillings that were likely to fail with more durable white fillings. The dentist (Josh) was keen to avoid discomfort as much as possible. Following these appointments we feel that our teeth should not give us any trouble for the foreseeable future.We are now seeing the hygienist, Yana, for regular follow up, maintenance, visits.The front line admin. staff are very friendly and helpful.Although the costs may appear to be high, we gather that they are comparable with other dental practices in the area but we feel that we are getting value for money.

My son had quite big serious dental work done at the Observatory. The staff were all so friendly and kind. Andrew, the dentist, was amazing. He talked through the procedure with my son and answered all his questions. He was very professional, attentive and took such care in treating my son. It was a very positive experience. Yes there is a cost, but it was worth it in the circumstances and we felt reassured the work was being done to a high standard.

Doctor Andrew Paterson at The Observatory Dental Practice is a highly skilled endodontist, as well as calming in his manner with excellent communication skills. I feel fortunate to have been referred to him by my dentist in order to try and save a tooth that otherwise would have had to be pulled out. Despite the high level of difficulty, Dr. Andrew was able to save my tooth! I appreciated how he reassuringly explained everything he was doing regarding my tooth - before, during, and after the procedure. I am so grateful and due to his skills my life has been made much better. Also, his dental practice is a bright, clean, friendly place to be in Falmouth. All of the staff I encountered were kind, helpful, and good at their jobs. I highly recommend Dr. Andrew and his practice!

All the staff are very friendly, and I have always felt cared for and in safe hands. I have been able to book appointments at a time that is convenient, and when I wanted a follow up appointment, I was able to get one very quickly. I have confidence that Andrew and Yana are looking after the long-term health of my teeth with their pro-active and preventative approach, advice and knowledge.

I cannot recommend this dental practice highly enough. Before coming here, I’d had some truly awful experiences with NHS dentists and honestly wish I had found this place much sooner. If you need a root canal — or have had a failed root canal and are looking for someone who is gentle, compassionate, and genuinely skilled — go to Andrew Patterson.I spent an entire year dealing with complications from a previous root canal, including constant rounds of antibiotics and no real solution. After seeing Andrew, the problem was finally resolved, and I haven’t had a single issue since. The equipment in this practice is far more advanced than anything I’ve seen elsewhere — for example, Andrew uses a microscope on his goggles to ensure every part of the root canal is thoroughly cleaned.Before coming here, I was extremely anxious about dental visits. My past experiences had left me feeling that many dentists were rude, dismissive, and lacked empathy. Andrew is the complete opposite. I no longer feel anxious about dental appointments at all.If cost is a concern, they offer 0% interest payment plans, and the prices are genuinely very reasonable.This is an honest review from someone who had lost all trust and hope in dentists because of past experiences. Meeting Andrew truly restored my faith. If you’re looking for a good dentist, go here — I genuinely cannot stress this enough. I only wish I had found this place sooner.

I was a little nervous at first having not visited a dentist for some time, however I was soon made to feel at ease by all the staff who were very friendly and non-judgemental.Andrew is a very knowledgeable and professional dentist, but also very down to earth and easy to get along with. After some good, honest advice he sorted out my immediate problems and he has now given me my smile back with some very skilled cosmetic dentistry.Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the treatment I have received and I would highly recommend The Observatory Dental Practice!

This place is mind blowing. I hadn't been to the dentist for 9 years, they were very realistic about what I needed and didn't force any treatment on me, I was actually surprised how little treatment I needed. I've never been somewhere that you can see and feel that every member of staff is happy and feels valued. Everyone is so lovely, caring and patient. The place itself is high tech, beautifully furnished, they have thought of everything even TVs on the ceiling so you can focus on something other than a blank wall and keeping your mouth open. The cleanliness is beyond spotless. Literally the best dental client I've ever been too. Highly recommend especially if you're scared of the dentist because they will do everything to make you feel at ease. Such a personal service. Thanks to all the team 😊

I’ve been a patient of Andrew’s for over decade and I can’t recommend the Observatory Dental Practice highly enough. I now live some distance away but it's absolutely worth travelling for.All my interactions with Andrew and the team have been excellent. For my most recent visit, the staff worked hard to fit me in at very short notice but my appointment didn’t feel rushed - the treatment was very thorough and the standard of care was fantastic.The practice itself has a very relaxing atmosphere and it’s filled with modern equipment (and I’m a big fan of the TV above the detail chair).

I cannot recommend Observatory Dental enough. I have been with them for the last couple of years and their service is always outstanding. Andrew has always been amazing, the care he shows is second to none. Today I had a small dental emergency and had an appointment with Thomas. I was so impressed by Thomas' holistic approach, his kindness and how he put me so at ease. Thomas and his assistant, Jess, were just fantastic! I must also mention Yana, who is a superb hygienist and again, goes above and beyond! What an amazing team, I really cannot speak highly enough of this dental practice.

I visited The Observatory Dental Practice with my mum who is hearing and visually impaired. From the moment we stepped into the practice she was made to feel at ease. Thomas and Emily were so kind, patient and understanding of her challenges. Thomas worked out a sign language code for her and I was allowed in the consultation so that I could relay the procedure at every stage. Mum’s appointment was lengthy and complex but was carried out with such expertise and professionalism with a caring approach.Thomas’s holistic approach and knowledge was so helpful for her aftercare. I must add the ‘blood Treatment’ not sure of the correct name was just amazing. Your own blood taken during the consultation, spun down then re used back into the cavity where the tooth was extracted to help the healing process. Wow. Definitely recommend.

I have been a patient at the Observatory since 2022, the treatment and care given have always been of the highest standard. The practice itself is a lovely and tranquil space and the team are all friendly and welcoming. All treatment and check ups are undertaken in the most professional, friendly and caring manor and time is always taken to explain whats either needed or about to be done. A very highly recommended dental practice.
